That cycle of overthinking-replaying the scenario again and again, the feeling of certain remarks from your partner that cause a reaction within you that you can’t understand and is not the real you, the feeling of being glued to your couch while the list of responsibilities rolls through your mind like movie credits-these “problems” have stories,
meanings, and function. Let’s get to know them-not to banish them, but to change them to work for you.
As a therapist I collaborate WITH you to assess your needs with curiosity. Together, we slow down, and dive deeper into the functions of their “problems” to understand what is really needed and wanted in order for you to thrive. I work through a systemic lens, incorporating a fuller picture of my client’s existence.
Your family, friends, partners, pets, all pour into your being, and yet when we begin therapy, we often condense ourselves into a problem- the overthinking, anxiety, racing thoughts, depression, anger-rather than fixing, I help direct my clients towards healing.
I work with a trauma informed lens. Incorporating IFS, attachment, and somatic work to help heal an often overworked, and misunderstood nervous system. This is the anchor that helps us move to behavioral change.
I work with teens, parents, adults, and couples to learn to address the missing piece that is bringing them to therapy. Bringing autonomy and control back into the individual to help them learn to self-soothe and identify their strengths and points of improvement. Being the “strong one”, the “happy couple”, the “overachiever” is one part of your story,
and it may sound great, but may not align with how you see yourself. Let’s work together to find a more aligned story where others see not a performance, they see you.
